A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE 54+ SENIORS. Our club started in 1968 and was called THE GOLDEN AGE CLUB. Our name changed in the early 90's to what it is today. This was done to encourage more younger people to join. The club has had many homes. We first started to gather in the basement of St John's Church. Then the town gave us use of a small building on Church St. but we outgrew this space and moved to the Gibson Centre which we occupied for 3 years. In 2010 we were on the move again and found a place at the Kingsmere Retirement Home. With the help of the town we finally got our own clubhouse which is attached to the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre on Industrial Road. Our grand opening was held on May 30, 2015. The club has grown over these years and as of today we have 220 members but we are always looking for more. We offer many varied activities such as cards, pool, shuffleboard, darts and more.
