Fundraiser for My Sisters Place
One of our former members has organized a benefit for My Sisters Place. Since this is a worthwhile charity which we have supported in the past we wanted to let our membership know of its happening.
The club has also donated $100.00 in gift cards for the door prizes and we hope that this will help to increase the funds raised for My Sisters House.

Membership votes on Proposed Changes to Club Policy for 2022

At the general meeting as well as at the various activities that are running at this time a vote was taken on the proposed changes for 2022 and the results are as follows;

99.3% of those who voted supported the policy that all members of Club 54 Plus must be fully vaccinated

They also supported the ideas that in order to participate in any activity individuals must become members

0.7% opposed
This policy will remain in effect until 2023 when it will be re-examined by the membership

It’s IMPRESSIVE that over 57% of our membership voted on this policy

Elder Abuse

We have been approached by the Prevention of Senior Abuse Network in Simcoe County about helping to reduce the risk of financial abuse. We have been asked to meet with this group with some representatives from our membership to discuss what topics might be of interest to our club to have presented at our club. We are looking for some individuals who would be willing to meet with this organization sometime in July. If you would be interested, please contact Brian Robertson and he could provide further information

Fall Elections 2022

In October nominations for the 2023-2024 Executive will be open. Any member of the Club is eligible to run for a position on the Executive. At this time, most of your current Executive is willing to continue working on the Executive; should they be nominated. At this time, the 1st Vice President has decided to step down.

Club Day Trips

At this time, we do not have a trip organizer. The best solution we have found is to provide information booklets from Hamilton Tours with the various day trips available.  It would then be up to individuals or small groups of 4 or 5 to select what interests them contact the tour company themselves and make bookings.  We know that this is not ideal but it is the best that we are able to do at this time.

Fall Barbecue at Club 54 Plus

A suggestion has been made to have a barbecue at the club in the fall and give old and new members a chance to become better acquainted with each other.

If you’d be willing to sit on a committee to prepare and organize an event such as this please contact Brian Robertson
